In February, Berlin-based Messenger Games pioneer SOFTGAMES moves to larger premises in Karl-Liebknecht-Straße within the Mitte district. The new headquarters in the so-called “Die Welle” building (completed in 2012) located next to Alexanderplatz was designed and fully furnished by an interior architect to meet the demands and needs of the staff.
“Within 2 months we have completely reconstructed and renovated this exciting place. We wanted our new office to become an absolute top location, featuring an inspiring atmosphere and providing the best possible equipment for all our colleagues”, says CEO Alexander Krug. “Our team did an amazing job in exceeding our annual growth plans to become one of the largest Messenger Game developers in the world. This is yet another way to say “Thank you” to all our colleagues.”
Room to grow
With currently around 70 employees, the former office in Torstrasse had already become too small for SOFTGAMES’ aggressive growth plans in 2019. With 1000 sqm, the new headquarters now offers additional space of up to 130 staff members. There are currently half a dozen open positions in Berlin plus additional available jobs for the newly established subsidiary company in Toronto, Canada, which was founded in January. By expanding to multiple locations SOFTGAMES sees a great opportunity to meet its increasing demand to hire top industry experts for its existing and newly planned projects in 2019 and beyond.
SOFTGAMES is exclusively developing and publishing HTML5 games since 2012 and was one of only 15 exclusive launch partners of Facebook’s Instant Games in 2016. In 2018 alone, the number of monthly and daily active players on the platform more than tripled, and Facebook reported that user numbers were already heading for the 1b milestone in January.
